Christmas on football team jerseys Over the past few seasons, there have been several teams that have taken to the pitch with festive kits

Christmas is getting closer and closer, and as is now customary, football teams decide to dress up for this festive occasion. In addition to the classic Christmas jumpers, the jumpers with various Santas, snowmen and reindeer as the main motifs, the uniforms they wear on the pitch have also taken on Christmas themes over the years. And the clubs have not missed the opportunity even at this time when the championships are at a standstill to make way for the World Cup in Qatar. Napoli began by presenting and then wearing in the two friendly matches on Turkish soil against Antalyaspor and Crystal Palace the Christmas Edition uniform, complete with a reindeer puppet design on the front. It was then Cagliari's turn to continue in this tradition by showing the public the red Christmas pre-match jersey with a mouflon, as an emblem of the typical festive animal of the Sardinian mountains, in the central part. Over the last few seasons, however, there have been several teams that have appeared on the pitch with kits decked out for this special occasion.

Atalanta's Christmas tradition

Christmas is also emphasised in the minor leagues, especially at Catanzaro, which on two occasions took the field with a Christmas Edition. In 2020 EYE designed a total-black jersey with a classic gold Christmas tree in the middle, between the shield and the logo of the technical sponsor, which was then worn against Juve Stabia. The following year, instead, against Vibonese, on the classic red jersey there appeared, in the same position as before, the writing 'Christmas Match' with lights and Christmas balls.
